French representation during GCTC in Washington

GCTC_logo_1200x628_transparent_1 (1)The Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) (March 22-25, 2016) is a collaborative platform enabling local governments, nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, technologists and private corporations from all over the world to form project teams, or “Action Clusters”, in order to work on groundbreaking Internet of Things (IoT) applications within the smart city environment.

During this event there will be a Tech Jam on March 24-25 with a public working group to develop an “IoT-Enabled Smart City Framework.”


It is a great opportunity for Vincent Demortier, Coordinator of OASC France and Angel City Investor to the OASC global initiative, to represent the Open & Agile Smart Cities Initiative and to interact with cities outside Europe to promote the advantages of being a Open & Agile Smart City.

The City Bee Botany project of the community of Saint Quentin (urban farming) will be showcased as well: Implement connected beehives in cities to produce high quality food through short distribution channels and to contribute to a better management of the urban green spaces, leveraging:
● Open data about the urban vegetation
● Data and information collected by the connected beehives the new business model of urban beekeeping
